Staying in our campsite near the aquarium of La Rochelle is an opportunity to discover all the riches of the ocean. Created in 1988 following the second international congress of aquariums, the La Rochelle aquarium has been welcoming 80,000 visitors per year since then. It is a place not to be missed if you spend your vacations in La Rochelle or in Charente-Maritime.
The tour includes a wide variety of rooms: the Atlantic room, the Mediterranean room, the oceanic environment, the jellyfish area, the Caribbean room, the Indo-Pacific room, the shark aquarium, the aquarium of the amphitheater and the tropical greenhouse.

On more than 8,000m², it exhibits more than 12,000 animals of 600 different species in 3 million liters of sea water.

The study center
The aquarium of La Rochelle, close to our campsite, also hosts the study and care center for marine turtles. This center takes care of stranded turtles. The center fights for the conservation of turtles. The turtles that strand on the coast are treated and then released.
